  near与nearly
  near——可作介词，其词义是“在……附近”(notfar from)；也可作形容词，其词义是“近的”(close to)。例如：
  (1)——Where's Kate？凯特在哪里？
  ——She's near the window.她在窗口附近。
  (2) He went to the nearest restaurant and satdown at the table.他走到最近的一家餐馆并在桌旁坐了下来。
  (3) The moon isn't as near as it looks.
  月亮并不象看到的那样近。
  nearly作副词用，但其词义与near相差很远，是“将近”，“几乎”（ almost）的意思。例如：
  (1) The Great Pyramid is nearly 5000 years old.
  这座大金字塔差不多有五千年历史了。
  (2) I write to him nearly every day.我几乎每天给他写信。nearly every day相当most days ,but not everyday)
  (3) It's nearly three o'clock.将近三点钟。
  记住：near是“在…附近”，“近的”意思；而nearly则是“将近”，“几乎”的意思。　·石零·
