Prepare与Prepare for
  Prepare是get ready或make ready（准备）的意思。prepare something也就是get someth-i ng ready的意思，即“进行某项准备工作”。 pre-p are这里是及物动词，something是作它的宾语。例如：
  （1） She was preparing the new lessonwith other teachers when I saw her.
  当我看见她时，她和其他老师一起备新课。
  （2 ） Mother is preparing supper in thekitchen.
  妈妈在厨房正在做（准备）晚饭。
  Prepare for（= get ready for）是“为……作好准备”的意思。pre pare在这里是不及物动词，for是介词作状语。例如：
  （1 ） We are going to prepare for tomo-rrow's exam this evening.
  今晚我们要为明天的考试作准备。
  （2 ） My brother is preparing for thejourney.
  我兄弟正在为这次旅行作准备。
  注：1. prepare somebody （something） for…是“使某人做好……准备”的意思。如：
  （1） They-will prepare their childrenfor school.
  他们将为孩子们做好上学准备。
  （ 2） Heprepared the food for dinner.
  他为吃饭准备好了食物。
  2.表示“准备”含义，常见的还有beready， get ready， make preparation for。如：
  （1） We are ready to start.
  我们准备出发。
  （2） They are going to get ready forswimming.
  他们准备游泳。
  （3 ） Have you made all the prepara-tion for your journey？
  你旅行的一切准备工作都做好了吗？Ex.完成下列句子，并注意时态：
  1. Children______（在为……作准备）National Day.
  2. The teachers______（正在准备出）theexamination papers.
  3. He is going______（准备为他的儿子上大学）。
  4. She______（在备）the new lessonyesterday evening.
  5. Miss______( Li备了）the new less-on yesterday.
  6. Plerse______（摆好桌子准备吃饭）。
  7. The students were busy ______（准备）the mid-term examinations.
